Athle is a small, independent project built by a couple of sports fans who got hooked on daily word puzzles and wanted the same once-a-day ritual for the athletes they grew up watching. This is the story behind it.
Our mission
Give sports fans a fun, fast, free daily ritual to test how well they really know the game's biggest names. One puzzle a day, per sport, no sign up required. Just you, the clues, and the rush of guessing today's athlete before the photo is revealed.
Why we built Athle
Daily puzzles are the best kind of habit. They are short, they are shared, and everyone gets the same challenge. We loved that, but the ones we played were all about words and maps. As lifelong football, tennis and basketball fans, we wanted a version that lived in our world: the players, the clubs, the rivalries and the careers we argue about with friends.
So we built Athle around a single satisfying moment. A blurred photo, a few honest clues, and the small thrill of locking in the right athlete one guess before everyone else. No endless feed, no ads-first clutter, no account walls. Open it, play it, come back tomorrow.
What makes Athle different
- Three sports under one roof. Football, tennis and basketball each get their own daily puzzle, so there is always something for your favourite.
- Four ways to play. Guess the hidden athlete from clues, fill a category grid, match shown players across a bingo board, or take on a daily trivia quiz, each with its own daily puzzle.
- Clues that reward real knowledge. Nationality, position, era, career moves and more, not just a name you either know or you don't.
- Respectful of your time and attention. One puzzle a day, no sign-up, and your streaks stay private on your own device.

Collect the Card Cabinet
Football, basketball and tennis each have a second game hiding inside them. Finish the daily Guess, Grid, Bingo or Quiz and you earn packs of collectible player cards (football also adds all-time Legends and Coaches) that you open and build into a lineup whose rating climbs with chemistry.

Full current rosters of the top-5 European leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1), plus a hand-picked set of global stars and legends who played elsewhere or have since retired.
Tennis
Every ATP and WTA player who finished a season in the year-end Top 10 since 2000, plus the pre-2000 legends who defined the sport before that.
Basketball
A curated set of NBA greats and current stars spanning every era, from the league's earliest icons to today's rosters.
What's next
Athle is just getting started. If the community loves it, we will add more sports, new clue types, and better ways to share and compete with friends. We build in the open and we listen, so the roadmap is shaped by the people who actually play. Have an idea? We want to hear it.
